Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I see a chiropractor?
We live our lives through our nervous system which is why it's so important to make sure it is functioning without interference. Your nervous system is responsible for sending messages between your brain and body. When it's able to send messages properly and efficiently you are able to function at your best. Regular chiropractic care works with your body to ensure that there is no interference on the nervous system by keeping your body in alignment. While chiropractic care is able to help thsoe who are experiencing uncomfortable symptoms, it's goal is not symptom relief but to focus on function to help you live to your highest potential. Chiropractic does this by working with your bodies own innate potential which gets you well and keeps you well.

Why should a child see a chiropractor?
Ninety-five percent of infants have misalignments after birth. Chiropractic is shown to relax muscular tension and improve sleep. It can also reduce colic symptoms and can improve breastfeeding outcomes in newborns. Chiropractic balances the nervous system. Children with a balanced nervous system can have less ear infections, better sleep, less bedwetting, decreased hyperactivity and much more.
Adjustments for infants and children are very safe and gentle. Although the objective is the same as adults, evaluation and adjustments for children are different than those for adults depending on what is physically and developmentally appropriate for each child. It is so important that babies and children get their spines checked that I offer a complimentary newborn exam to all of our prenatal practice members.

What is Webster's Technique?
The purpose of the adjustment is to restore proper alignment and biomechanical function of the spine, sacrum, pelvis and extremities. Webster's Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment protocol that focuses on the sacrum and surrounding ligaments. It is often used for pregnant patients. Using Webster's Technique, the sacrum and pelvic bones are restored in proper alignment which relieves intrauterine constraint caused by tension and torsion of the ligaments and other soft tissues connected to the pelvis. This allows for more space for your baby to move into the proper position for birth. It has also been shown to ease pain and discomfort caused by misalignment of the pelvis and sacrum.

Do you take insurance?
I am out of network and do not work directly with insurance providers. I have found that practice members get more out of their care when they have a custom plan that fits their healthcare goals verus those of what the insurance companies will cover. It is also my goal to work with patients to determine the best care plan options as they go forward with care for themselves and their families.

How long will it take?
How long care takes depends completely on each individual patient and their healthcare goals. During your initial consultation and exam, we will chat about your history, main complaints, lifestyle and healthcare goals. After an exam focused around your complaint and goals, I will give recommendations based on if we were in an ideal world. We will chat about realistic expectations and care plans from there. Most patients find relief or improvement of function after just a few visits. Ultimately, you are in control of your health and the health of your family.
